How to Live Safely in Your Own Home
I have spent a lot of time talking about home security with a lot of homeowners. I am working to get some insight on different ways that our homes can become at risk. One of the things I asked them was if they had ever experienced suspicious actions on their property. It could have been robbery, broken windows, a suspicious individual – anything. I was surprised that almost everybody had a story to tell me. Many of the experiences eventually led them to buy a alarm system. I have heard that Home Security in KS is one of the best options.
One person said that he was home for the afternoon, but left to go pick his son up from soccer practice. When he and his son returned home about 10 minutes later, one of the windows was broken and several things were missing inside. He seemed to think he was being watched, and the thief knew when he left. Another mother of three said that she answered the door to someone who said they were a salesman. After he pitched his sale, he asked if he could talk it over with her inside the house. She said no thank you, and he again replied by asking if he could at least come inside and use her telephone. Considering he was being so persistent, she declined again and shut the door in his face.
All of us have had our encounters with suspicious situations and people. Some are worse than others, like that of the first man. The information I am trying to figure out helps me determine what encourages people to install a home security system. The woman said she quickly decided to get one the next day.
I have heard a lot of similar stories from other families. You never know what will happen on a given day. I am certain these people did not wake up that morning and think something out of the ordinary would happen that day. It really highlights the importance of always being proactive.
